Substance Abuse- Intensive Outpatient Program 2.1

What is Substance Abuse- Intensive Outpatient Program 2.1

 A structured behavioral health service designed to support individuals struggling with substance use while allowing them to continue living at home and maintaining daily responsibilities. This program provides comprehensive treatment through group and individual therapy to promote recovery, prevent relapse, and improve overall functioning.

Services are delivered in a supportive outpatient setting and are based on American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria to ensure appropriate level of care.

Who Qualifies?

 Must be:

  • Medicaid eligible
  • Diagnosed with a substance use disorder
  • In need of structured treatment services (ASAM Level 2.1)
  • Able to participate in outpatient programming
  • Not in need of 24-hour medical supervision

May include individuals who:

  • Are at risk of relapse
  • Are stepping down from a higher level of care (detox, inpatient, residential)
  • Need more support than traditional outpatient services

Services Include

  • Group Therapy (minimum 9+ hours per week)
  • Individual Counseling
  • Substance Use Education
  • Relapse Prevention Planning
  • Coping Skills Development
  • Life Skills Training
  • Family Support (when appropriate)
  • Care Coordination & Referrals

Length of Service

 Services are typically provided up to 3 to 6 months and may be extended based on clinical necessity.
